This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most respected, ambitious and dynamic teams in the industry.

The team leads the thinking on procurement strategy and makes a real and valued difference to the organisation and our customers.

Joining one of our 5 category teams (Supply Chain, Marketing, Property & FM, Professional Services or Technology) and reporting into one of our Category Directors, you will be part of a team of c.30 procurement professionals managing a substantial range of projects and ongoing stakeholder and supplier relationships, developing future partnerships, and challenging the status quo.

About the role

You will be a Procurement expert for Boots & No7 Beauty Company, based at our Nottingham Support Office, where you can interact with any internal stakeholders you might need to spend time with. This approach provides all team members with a lively environment that keeps us connected and supported.

We believe that our Procurement team should not be desk-bound and should stay informed about their suppliers and industry developments so you’ll be encouraged to get out of the office and learn from a variety of sources including from visiting your suppliers and attending industry events.

The overriding responsibility is to deliver the best possible value to the business from 3rd party relationships within your assigned category by:

• Working with stakeholders (functional, procurement and supplier), to develop strategy and tactics for initiatives, providing thought leadership; identifying, creating and implementing initiatives to maximize value and ensuring ongoing management of existing supplier contracts and relationships.

• Leading the development, implementation and ongoing management of category strategies.

• Providing commercial leadership to stakeholders including senior executives

• Taking a role in the continuous evolution of the Boots procurement team

What you’ll need to have

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a Procurement role within a complex environment

• Confidence to offer credible commercial guidance in often complex scenarios.

• The personal drive to deliver at pace whilst working on a wide range of initiatives

• You are commercially astute with strong communication and negotiation skills and adept at applying a variety of commercial approaches to deliver real value to the business

Note: Relevant industry / market knowledge and category insights to provide knowledge-based challenge to stakeholders and suppliers alike will be sought for certain sub-categories but for most roles we will hire for attitude and aptitude to identify the best available talent for our team.
