Application Process

      Submit your online application via the boots.jobs careers site (we do not accept speculative CVs or in-store applications). We will review your application against the basic requirements for the role (e.g. availability for shift patterns) and if you don’t meet these requirements you’ll be notified by email that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.

      2. Online Assessment

      If you meet the basic requirements for the position, you may receive an invite to complete a short online assessment. If you require additional support as part of the application and assessment process, we are happy to provide reasonable adjustments, click here to find out more. If you have previously taken and passed the assessment within the last 12 months you will not be required to take it again.

      3. Interview

      If you progress past the application process and are selected for an interview, you will receive an email inviting you to an interview with a leader in store. In some cases, the hiring manager may call you directly to arrange the interview.       4. Interview Outcome

      Following your interview, if you have been successful the hiring manager will contact you via phone to verbally offer you the position. Following this, you will receive an email with links to our Onboarding Portal where you will sign your offer letter and contract and submit some personal details so we can set you up ready for your first day. If you have been unsuccessful you will be contacted by email. If you wish to request any feedback, please contact the store directly.

This is where you will find out the specifics about the position, the store, and working for Boots, and we will get to know more about your experience.   • Need support or adjustments?

    If you require additional support as part of the application and interview process, we are happy to provide reasonable adjustments to enable you to be at your best.

    During your online application, you will be asked ‘Do you require any adjustments or assistance?’ Please use this section to tell us about any adjustments or assistance you may need in order to complete any assessments or attend an interview. We will endeavour to meet these requests wherever possible.

    For some roles we ask candidates to complete a short online assessment as part of the application process. These assessments are not timed, however we do recommend you try to complete this as soon as possible. Please get in touch with our Recruitment team if you feel you need further support.

    If you would like to discuss any adjustments you may need to work with us (such as accessibility or working patterns), you can discuss this with the hiring manager either at the interview or after a job offer has been made.   • Pre-employments checks

    At Boots we believe it’s important that we have the right people in the right roles and our aim is ensure that suitable colleagues are not excluded from employment. Depending on the role applied for, we may be required to carry out some pre-employment checks. These checks may include some or all of the following:

    Employment references – all successful candidates will be asked to send us the names and contact details for your references.

    Driving Licence checks – where required for the role.

    We are required by law to complete further pre-employment checks specifically where the roles involve handling customer data or when based within a healthcare environment. These checks will need be conducted prior to starting with us and may include the below:

    • Criminal record and vetting checks (including DBS, PVG and AccessNI in UK and Garda vetting in ROI)
    • Professional registration and/or membership checks

    Whilst the outcome will not automatically determine your employment with Boots, we would encourage you to have a conversation with the interviewing manager and be honest about your background. Boots will consider the suitability of applicants with criminal convictions on a case-by-case basis.
