FAQs
You will need to have an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent), and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council to join us as a Pharmacy Technician. To work within our dispensaries you also need to have completed a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent.
As a Boots Pharmacy Technician you will play a key role in the day to day running of the dispensary including: ordering medicines; labelling, dispensing and checking of prescriptions; as well as having responsibility for legal, safe and ethical decision-making in the pharmacy. You will also provide exceptional patient care by tailoring conversations with every customer to ensure they feel informed and confident about their healthcare needs and coaching other pharmacy team members to do the same.
Our Pharmacy Technicians work closely with our Pharmacists to support them to be able to deliver more services in store. In addition, they help oversee and inspire the healthcare team to deliver patient-centred care, as well as supporting with the training of Trainee Technicians and Trainee Pharmacists .
