About the role
We are looking for a App Technical Architect to join our team and lead the design and development of our mobile applications. You will design the overall architecture of the app, ensuring quality engineering, scalability, maintainability, and performance. You will support IT project delivery, acting as the bridge between Product development functions and technical delivery teams. You will have experience in mobile app architecture, an understanding of multiple technologies, and the ability to create scalable and robust solutions. As an Application Architect, you will work with our Solution Architects, Developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure our mobile apps meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

As an Application Architect, you will work with our Solution Architects, Developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure our mobile apps meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Main responsibilities:
- Design and oversee the architecture of IOS and Android mobile applications, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Collaborate with architecture and development teams to implement architectural solutions and provide technical guidance.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality product platform.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Identify and address technical risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our mobile apps remain competitive.
- Mentor and support development teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Define a Software Currency Roadmap to show how we will keep modules and libraries up to date.
- Be the person who is responsible for the Application Architecture (i.e. they are the person who has the last say on how the apps are structured)
- Define Patterns, Standards & Principles relating to the application being covered and get approval at the relevant authority
- Be an approver of solution designs feeding into the Mobile App project delivery teams
These are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role.
- Recognised qualification in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience as a Technical Architect or similar role in mobile app development.
- Technical background with hands-on experience in mobile app development (iOS, Android, or cross-platform).
- Understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
- Experience with cloud services and backend integration.
- Experience with Platform Android Languages; Kotlin, Java and Tools; Android Studio, Jetpack libraries
- Experience with Platform IOS Languages; Swift, Objective-C and Tools; Xcode, SwiftUI, UI Kit
