About the role
We’re looking for a motivated and creative Digital Design Lead to join our boots.com Digital Experience team and develop the best digital solutions, for our UK and ROI websites. You will lead the day-to-day design delivery for one of our business unit trading areas, overseeing projects from concept to execution. Collaborating with a talented team of designers, copywriters, and FED specialists, you’ll be a guardian of the Boots digital experience and ensure we are delivering digital-first, on-brand, customer focused experiences. You’ll join a dynamic team who push boundaries and enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
What you’ll need to have
Develop customer-led digital design solutions for department category pages, ensuring adherence to BVI guidelines (Boots Visual Identity) within the AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) templates
Lead the end to end process from brief through design creation, build, testing, quality control, final page approvals and publishing to live
Manage partner relationships and approvals with internal teams and external agencies including Pharmacy, Legal, eCommerce, Operations, and Marketing teams.
Work closely with the UX, eCommerce, and Insights teams to improve the pages.
Work within the project management workflow tool to understand briefs, manage team resource, monitor status, and deliver to agree timelines.
Line management, coaching and development of a small team of designers
It would be great if you also have
At least 3 years of experience in digital design for commercial websites.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop) and Figma
Experience with CMS platforms, ideally Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
Ability to manage own and your team’s time, prioritise work and meet deadlines
Proven track record in managing stakeholder relationships and applying creative problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
Excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills with a keen eye for detail and a strong customer focus
Experience in coaching and mentoring team members, helping them develop their skills and careers
Flexibility, as ‘out of hours’ working will be required
Formal graphic design qualification would be desirable
