What you'll be doing:
We’re embarking on a People Transformation journey, modernising our technology to create a simpler, more seamless experience across Boots. Through our HR Transformation programme we'll improve our ways of working to make it easier to support colleagues through key moments in their careers while enabling better access to information and more effective support across the business.
Reporting to the HRIS Programme Director, you'll lead the day-to-day programme management across multiple workstreams, ensuring plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and resources are actively managed. You'll bring structure, pace and accountability to a complex transformation, connecting teams and ensuring delivery remains aligned to the overall programme objectives.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager to work at the heart of a high-profile business transformation, helping to deliver technology that will have a significant impact on our colleagues and the way Boots operates.
Key responsibilities:
• Programme delivery: Lead day-to-day delivery across multiple HRIS workstreams, maintaining the integrated programme plan, milestones, dependencies, resources and delivery forecasts to ensure outcomes are delivered to scope, time, cost and quality.
• Programme governance & reporting: Maintain robust programme controls, governance and reporting, providing clear insight on progress, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and areas requiring escalation to the HRIS Programme Director and governance forums.
• Risk, issue & dependency management: Proactively identify and resolve risks, issues, assumptions and interdependencies across the programme, escalating where appropriate and removing barriers to delivery.
• Workstream & stakeholder leadership: Coordinate Project Managers, workstream leads and cross-functional teams across HR, Technology, Payroll, Finance, Procurement and other business areas, ensuring alignment and effective delivery across the matrix.
• Supplier & delivery partner management: Work closely with third-party partners to track commitments, manage delivery dependencies and ensure agreed deliverables and quality standards are achieved.
• Business readiness & implementation: Support the end-to-end implementation of new HR Systems, coordinating activity across solution delivery, data migration, integrations, testing, deployment, business readiness and transition to Business as Usual.
What you'll need to have (our must-haves):
• Proven experience managing complex technology, HRIS or business transformation programmes within large organisations.
• Strong programme management expertise across planning, governance, delivery, risk, issue, dependency and change management.
• Demonstrable experience coordinating multiple workstreams and leading cross-functional teams in a complex matrix environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders and third-party delivery partners.
• Strong commercial, financial and delivery management capability, including experience with budgets, resources, forecasting and supplier performance.
It would be great if you also have:
• Experience delivering HRIS programmes
• Programme/project management certification such as MSP, PRINCE2 or PMP, and/or experience delivering large-scale HR or Payroll transformation.
Rewards designed for you:
• Boots Retirement Savings Plan
• Discretionary annual bonus
• Generous employee discounts
• Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child
• Flexible benefits scheme including option to buy additional holiday, discounted gym membership, life assurance, activity passes and much more.
