Overview:

The Senior Media Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, execution and optimisation of paid media activity for Boots Online Doctor. As the team's paid media subject matter expert, this role owns the day-to-day performance of all paid acquisition channels, ensuring marketing investment delivers measurable commercial outcomes while continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and scale.

Working closely with the Integrated Marketing Lead and Head of Marketing, the Senior Media Manager translates business objectives into high-performing media plans and campaigns across PPC, Paid Social, Display and Affiliate channels. The role combines hands-on channel expertise with strong commercial acumen, ensuring campaigns are delivered efficiently, budgets are effectively managed and performance insights drive continual optimisation.

This role also builds strong relationships with the Boots Marketing team, media partners and platform providers, ensuring Boots Online Doctor benefits from industry best practice, emerging opportunities and innovative approaches to customer acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution and optimisation of paid media campaigns across PPC, Paid Social, Display and Affiliate channels to achieve customer acquisition and commercial growth targets.
• Own paid media strategy and channel recommendations, using customer, market and performance insights to optimise marketing investment and maximise return on spend.
• Act as the organisation's subject matter expert for paid media, ensuring campaigns follow industry best practice and platform innovations are effectively adopted.
• Manage campaign implementation, trafficking and quality assurance across all paid media platforms, ensuring activity is delivered accurately and on schedule.
• Monitor campaign performance, proactively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, conversion and return on investment through continuous testing and optimisation.
• Manage media budgets, forecasts and financial tracking, ensuring accurate spend management, purchase order administration and budget reconciliation.
• Develop regular performance reporting and present actionable insights and recommendations to marketing leadership and key stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media owners, platform partners and technology providers to maximise value, unlock new opportunities and influence future roadmaps.
• Work collaboratively with creative, CRM, SEO, Digital Experience, Analytics and Commercial teams to deliver integrated marketing campaigns and ensure consistent customer experiences.
• Support the Integrated Marketing Lead with annual planning, forecasting, budget allocation and marketing effectiveness reviews.

What you’ll need to have:

• Significant experience managing paid media across PPC, Paid Social, Display and Affiliate marketing, ideally within a high-growth digital business. Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrable experience developing and executing performance marketing strategies that deliver measurable commercial results.
• Expert knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, AWin, Google Shopping and other leading paid media platforms.
• Strong understanding of attribution, measurement, analytics and conversion optimization, including experience using GA4
• Experience managing substantial marketing budgets, financial forecasting and purchase order processes.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex performance data and translate insights into clear recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence colleagues across marketing, commercial and finance teams.
• Highly organised with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
