What is the Support to Practice Programme?

Our Support to Practice Programme is designed to support New to UK / Return to Practice pharmacists to acquire the necessary level of knowledge and understanding of pharmacy law, ethics and practice to be deemed competent to work as a responsible pharmacist for Boots.

✔ Hands-on training in an established store with experienced pharmacists
✔ A dedicated mentor to guide you through UK pharmacy law, ethics, and best practices

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking pharmacists who are:
✔ IELTS/OET qualified with the necessary scores (or in progress)
✔ GPhC registered (or in the process of registering)
✔ Passionate about community pharmacy and providing exceptional patient care
✔ Great communicators who can work collaboratively with their teams

Please note that you must be looking to relocate to the UK within the next 6 months to be eligible at this time.

What you’ll be doing
Our pharmacists make a real difference in the communities we look after, delivering trusted care, advice and services that put patients first. In this role, you’ll use your clinical expertise every day, surrounded by a brilliant team and tools.

Key responsibilities
  • Delivering NHS, locally commissioned, and private services using both in-store and digital tools
  • Leading professional and legal standards for patient safety and pharmacy compliance
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and continually improving standards of care and safety
  • Working with the Store Manager to develop the capability of the wider healthcare team
  • Growing talent that reflects the communities we serve; coaching, mentoring and supporting your colleagues every step of the way.
  • Representing Boots within the local community and with healthcare professionals

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
  • Registered with the relevant pharmacy regulator (GPhC, PSNI, PSI)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience leading patient and customer care within a pharmacy setting
  • Passion for delivering essential, advanced, and private services
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset and an eagerness to coach and guide others

It would be great if you also have
  • Experience in enhanced services
  • A strong understanding of local clinical networks
