Amit’s Journey – Diverse Challenges, Decision Making and Data Science
I’m Amit and I am a Senior CRM Analyst at Boots. I work in Brands and Personalisation within the Data Science Team, contributing to the development and analysis of marketing campaigns. I was drawn to this role at Boots for a couple of compelling reasons. Firstly, I was genuinely impressed by the marketing communications I had received personally, and I wanted to be part of the team responsible for these innovative campaigns, and of course, because Boots is a big name, having been around for over 170 years.
What is a CRM Analyst and what impact do they have on the business?
A Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Analyst plays a crucial role in helping organisations manage and optimise their interactions with customers. Their primary responsibilities revolve around leveraging CRM software and data to improve customer relationships, enhance sales and marketing efforts, and support overall business goals. The job involves customer segmentation, post-campaign analysis, building reports and dashboards, and training and supporting team members who use the CRM system.
Tell us about your experience at Boots
It’s hands down the best place I’ve worked in my career. The Data Science team is an awesome place to be. Seriously, everyone I’ve crossed paths with so far has been incredibly friendly and super supportive.
Let me gush about my manager for a second – she’s absolutely amazing, and together with the rest of the team, they made sure I felt right at home during my initial days in the office. This is my first job here in the UK, having recently moved from India with my family, and I couldn’t have asked for a smoother transition. The team went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable and settled in. I love the hybrid way of working and being able to work from home and in the office.
One more thing that really stands out is how inclusive the culture is here. You can truly be yourself at work. As a gay man, this was particularly important to me, and I’ve felt nothing but inclusion and support since the day I joined Boots.
