• Services delivered in store: Boots Opticians Lowestoft is a stand-alone store located in the heart of the thriving town centre. The practice was refitted last year and has 2 testing rooms, with 2 clinics running each day, alongside a dedicated Contact Lens area and Hearingcare service. The store also benefits from Optomap and OCT, providing excellent clinical technology to support patient care and clinical conversations.
• Team structure: You’ll join an established and supportive team within a modern, recently refitted practice. The store has a varied patient demographic and a collaborative environment, with colleagues across Opticians and Hearingcare working together to provide an excellent patient experience. This is a great opportunity for a Dispensing Optician to become an integral part of a well-established local practice.
Located just 5 minutes from the beach, Lowestoft offers the perfect combination of a thriving town-centre location and coastal living. The town forms part of the wider twin-town area with Great Yarmouth, providing excellent access to the surrounding Suffolk and Norfolk communities.
The store is easily accessible by public transport, with the train station just 2 minutes' walk away and good local bus routes. Parking is also available nearby.
The standard working pattern is 9:00am–5:30pm, with Sunday hours of 10:00am–4:30pm. Weekend working is required, with one day every weekend.

As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
- Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
- Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.
- Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
- Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
- Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
- Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
- Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.
