What you'll be doing

An exciting opportunity for a permanent position in the Superintendent Pharmacist's Office (SPO) is available. The role would be great for a pharmacy advisor who is passionate about patient-centred care and has high professional standards. The role involves working predominately to support the management of pharmacy incidents and complaints, as well as getting involved in other administrative tasks to support the rest of the SPO team.

This role will be a good opportunity for anyone looking to try a Support Office role and gain insights into the SPO team but also build relationships with other colleagues within the Pharmacy function.

The successful candidate will report into the Patient Safety Development Manager and will be part of the Central Professional Standards team within the SPO.

Key responsibilities

  • This role holder will be involved in reviewing the Pharmacy Incident and Events Reporting System (PIERS) to identify urgent pharmacy complaints and incidents and highlighting them to the relevant central SPO team/field team members

  • Support the central SPO team with administrative tasks, such as maintaining field contact lists, outgoing mail, filing, archiving and telephone calls

  • There will be the opportunity to understand the PIERS system in more detail by creating daily reports, managing contact lists and extracting data

  • The role holder will be expected to make links with the Customer Care team, field teams and internal teams in order to support the management of professional pharmacy complaints and incidents

  • Maintain lists of registered professionals; regularly check provisional and temporary GPhC registers

  • Provide advice to both central and store based team members where appropriate e.g. regarding registration compliance, CD destruction

What you'll need to have (our must-haves)

  • A pharmacy qualification, such as Pharmacy Advisor

  • Good governance and operational knowledge of walk-in dispensing, Care Services and Medisure (DDS)

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programmes such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Brilliant command of the English language, grammar, spelling with articulate communication skills (both written and verbal) and a high concern for order and quality

  • You must be able to work to tight deadlines, prioritise effectively and deliver on time, every time.
