About the role
Our Global Transport and Customs function are looking for someone to join our, working on the customs operation for trailers moving from the UK to our stores in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
The role is based in our Nottingham D90 Head Office and is a Seasonal role to help support the increase in volume ahead of Christmas in our stores.
Global Transport and Customs is a centre of excellence for all things customs and international transport. We serve several of our business units including Boots, Boots Ireland, No7 Beauty Company and International Retail.
This role is based in our ROI Team and has a dual function, being the UK exporter and Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland importer and will be a pivotal part of making sure our customer offer is available to all our customers in both Northern and Southern Ireland
Key responsibilities
Use MS office tools to create bespoke customs documents by manipulating multiple files and data
Complete customs declarations in a variety of in-house customs applications
Work with internal and external teams to ensure data and details are accurate that will be submitted to customs
Communicate to all customs agencies to resolve any port issues to aid smooth movements
Work closely with our haulier to ensure declaration references are provided on time for ferry sailings
What you'll need to have
Experience of working with others as a team to ensure non-negotiable deadlines are met
Clear and concise communication skills as you will need to engage with our external partners and agencies like Revenue or HMRC
Great attention to detail – getting a customs declaration accurate is a key performance indicator
Experience of working in Excel
Ability to work in multiple systems at once
You must be able to move around among a variety of tasks and priorities, depending on what needs to ship first
