About the role

Boots.com is looking for a Content Strategist to join our Digital team. In this role, you'll combine data, storytelling, and strategic thinking to improve customer journeys and lead Boot's digital growth. You'll be responsible for planning content that not only engages but performs, by using insights to guide decisions, improve messaging, and uncover new opportunities. Key responsibilities

You will report to the SEO Content Manager but will involve collaboration with UX, Digital Experience and Brand Marketing teams, and agency partners. You'll work across core areas of Boots.com such as healthcare, beauty, and pharmacy to plan, optimise, and measure content that meets customer needs and business priorities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead content audits to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities across Boots.com
  • Use data (GA4, Contentsquare, social listening) to evaluate content performance and shape editorial planning
  • Translate customer behaviours, search trends, and seasonal insights into actionable content strategies
  • Work with cross-functional teams to achieve campaigns, launches, and always-on content needs
  • Contribute to the Digital transformation programme by providing industry leading best practice
  • Explore AI tools and trend forecasting to support scalable ideation and planning
  • Champion Boots' brand tone and customer focus across all content formats

What you'll need to have

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

  • Around 3 years' experience in content strategy, digital content, or content marketing: ideally within retail or e-commerce

  • Experience working with editorial calendars across digital and social platforms · Proven ability to plan and optimise content using performance data and audience insights

  • Comfortable using tools like GA4, Contentsquare, social listening platforms, and CMS systems

  • Strong writing and editorial judgement, with an ability to tailor content to diverse customer needs · Able to collaborate across multiple teams to deliver cohesive content

  • A good understanding of how customers navigate and engage with content across digital channels

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple content workstreams

  • Confident presenting ideas backed by data and insight

  • An understanding of how cultural and seasonal trends influence content performance

It would be great if you also have

  • Familiarity with other digital storytelling formats, including video, interactive, or personalised content

  • Experience using AI or trend tools to support ideation and campaign planning

  • A background in health, beauty, or wellness content

  • Awareness of Boots' customer base and how different audiences engage with content

  • Experience in content testing, personalisation, or A/B testing to improve engagement Contentsquare certification
