Meet Boots Beauty Specialist, Connor
My name is Connor and I’m a make-up junkie! I started my Boots journey in May this year and have loved my experience so far. I work in Guildford and during the week the foot flow is steady, but I find the weekend rush amazing! I love asking our customers to take a seat, doing consultations and providing great product knowledge to them. I love that I can be unbiased and advise on multiple brands – this gives the customers reassurance that we’re going to find them the best product and not just sell something to them because it’s from a specific brand.
What I love most about working as a Boots Beauty Specialist is supporting brand launches and new products – it’s so exciting to learn about upcoming brands and new products as this keeps up my passion for make-up.
What are you looking forward to most about working as a Boots Beauty Specialist this Christmas?
I always love working during the festive season as you’re constantly busy with customers, and this really helps keep up the festive spirit and spread joy to everyone! All the brands have amazing products and I find that because of this, the customers are more willing to try and buy new things. I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year as it’ll be a lot different to the lockdowns going on last year, so I’m excited to provide the best customer experience for our customers and make up for the challenges and heartbreak we all faced last year.
Tell us about your future career aspirations at Boots
I’m hoping to be with Boots for a long time as I’ve always loved the company and I love working across multiple premium brands. Eventually, I would love to progress onto becoming a Beauty Team Leader or Beauty Trainer as I love coaching and developing teams, sharing my product knowledge and my passion for makeup.

My name is Selin and I’ve been a Boots Beauty Specialist for just over two years. For me, finding this job was like finding gold as I never imagined I’d be able to secure a role like this without extensive makeup experience. Being a Beauty Specialist really opens your eyes to all the amazing brands out there. I find that exploring the role and trying out all the different products we have helps you to connect with customers and gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself into the role, which I really enjoy.
What makes being a Boots Beauty Specialist at Christmas time so special?
The role of a Boots Beauty Specialist really comes to life at Christmas time when you can express yourself with fun and festive creative makeup, you can also inspire customers with all the new and exciting gift sets that our premium brands introduce. In store we take part in events, such as Christmas Jumper Day, to support charities and raise money for a great cause. During the festive period, from the moment a customer enters the store, their shopping experience comes to life as the team is full of positive energy and always available to help them choose the presents for their loved ones – or even a treat for themselves! There is a huge selection of gifts for all different budgets, making it easy to find exactly what your customer is looking for. I love to get creative with customers to give them ideas, tips and tricks for those special Christmas and New Year party looks.
What is it like to work as a Boots Beauty Specialist in a large, city store?
Working in a large store is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! It creates a diversified environment to be able to serve customers from many different backgrounds and this assists you in your personal development. Because it’s such a large store, there’s always someone to help you when you face any challenges. It’s not just a job. The team in store is like a family, we have built up such a fantastic relationship with one another – going in to work is just like going to see your friends.
