About the role:

We’re looking for a skilled, user-focussed Digital UX Copywriter to join our team. As Boots Online Doctor expands rapidly into new clinical areas and scales existing services, this role will play a pivotal part in shaping the end-to-end patient journey. Sitting at the intersection of UX, clinical messaging, and digital content, your primary focus will be designing and writing intuitive product flows, consultation journeys, service emails, and product pages. You will translate complex medical and regulatory information into clear, empathetic, and actionable digital copy that builds trust and guides patients seamlessly through our services.

While the core focus will be product and service copywriting, you will also collaborate closely with senior copywriters and design partners to support broader marketing campaigns, brand initiatives, and promotional copy when needed

This role also builds strong relationships with the Boots Marketing team, media partners and platform providers, ensuring Boots Online Doctor benefits from industry best practice, emerging opportunities and innovative approaches to customer acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write intuitive, engaging copy across our website, patient consultation flows, checkout journeys, app screens, and product pages.
• Partner directly with design and development to ensure messaging aligns with interface components to maximise completion rates and reduce patient drop-off.
• Lead copywriting delivery for high-profile new clinical service launches and ongoing enhancements to fast-growing existing services.
• Work closely with Clinical and Legal/Compliance teams to translate complex medical guidelines into plain, human, accessible language while maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Write and optimise transactional service emails, onboarding sequences, system notifications, and patient support messaging to build trust throughout the care pathway.
• Collaborate with the Clinical team to audit existing clinician-to-patient messaging and build an ongoing process for optimising clinical communications.
• Input into wireframing, messaging frameworks, and user testing, working with the optimisation team to test and refine copy based on A/B testing, patient feedback, analytics, and clinical updates.
• Act as a brand guardian for service messaging, ensuring all product touchpoints strictly adhere to the Boots and Boots Online Doctor Tone of Voice (TOV) and editorial guidelines.
• Provide flexible copywriting support across promotional landing pages, PPC search ads, and marketing campaigns to support wider business growth objectives.

What you’ll need to have:

• Proven digital/UX copywriting experience writing for e-commerce, digital products, apps, or complex user journeys (product flows, wireframes, system emails).
• Demonstrated ability to turn complex medical, technical, or regulatory details into clear, empathetic, and engaging plain English.
• Meticulous attention to detail with exceptional editing and proofreading skills in a regulated environment where accuracy is critical.
• Solid understanding of digital user experience (UX) principles, accessibility, and how copy interacts with UI components.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence communicating and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams including product designers, clinical experts, and marketing leads.
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the adaptability to handle multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with using LLMs for ideation, copy drafting, refining, and process simplifications within copy generation workflows.
• Experience working within healthcare, health-tech, or another regulated sector is desirable.
• The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, taking initiative independently while partnering closely with cross-functional team members
