What you’ll be doing
As the Head of Internal Communications, you’ll lead a dynamic team dedicated to delivering impactful communications that resonate with our colleagues. Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, you’ll set the strategic direction for colleague communications across various functions, ensuring alignment with our company narrative and Better for It plan.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and implement the annual internal communications strategy for Stores, Logistics, Tech, Data, Corporate, Strategy, and Support Functions.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring clarity in roles and objectives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing counsel and aligning messaging with operational realities.
• Oversee the delivery of company narrative and strategy communications, translating leadership intent into colleague-first messaging.
• Manage enterprise-wide change communications, ensuring clarity and consistency across all channels.
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
• Extensive experience delivering internal communications for diverse colleague audiences in a large-scale organisation, particularly customer-facing colleagues.
• Proven leadership capability.
• Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, able to connect business objectives to clear internal communications strategies and implementation plans.
• Exceptional influencing and stakeholder management abilities.
• Creative and story-telling abilities with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to simplify complex information.
• Strong operational understanding, particularly in a retail or logistics context.
• A data-led mindset to interpret analytics and drive continuous improvement.
