What you’ll be doing
In this influential leadership role, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver our Boots' prescription services strategy, including pharmacy care services, with full commercial and strategic accountability across the in-stores and digital prescriptions.

As a key member of the Healthcare Business Unit leadership team, you will drive profitable growth, sales revenue, P&L performance including accountability for dispensing margin, while developing innovative omnichannel customer propositions that differentiate Boots in the market.

Working closely with the NHS across all four UK Nations, care home providers, suppliers and other external partners, you will strengthen Boots’ position as a healthcare partner of choice and help influence the future of community pharmacy in the UK. The role also owns the long-term prescription services strategy, including care home, hospital and prison dispensing services, and oversees major supplier partnerships.

Leading a team of senior managers within a complex matrix organisation, you will collaborate cross functionally to deliver customer-focused solutions and strategic outcomes.

Key responsibilities
• Define and deliver the long-term Prescription Services strategy, driving sustainable growth, profitability and performance, ensuring alignment with Boots’ overall vision and objectives.
• Drive operational excellence and implement best practices to enhance service delivery and customer outcomes.
• Own the Prescription P&L, maximising revenue, dispensing margin and commercial opportunities.
• Develop innovative prescription and care service propositions that keep the customer needs front of mind to help strengthen Boots’ competitive advantage.
• Lead the development of Boots’ omnichannel pharmacy proposition, enhancing customer experience and growing market share across stores and digital channels.
• Build and maintain influential relationships with the NHS, regulators, suppliers and healthcare providers, actively shaping the future of community pharmacy and healthcare services
• Lead, inspire and develop high-performing teams, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement initiatives that deliver strategic priorities, and organisational goals.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging your team to embrace change and innovate.
• Champion organisational capability and development to respond to evolving customer, regulatory and market requirements.

What you’ll need to have
• Significant experience in a senior leadership role within a large, complex healthcare, retail or consumer-facing organisation, with accountability for substantial commercial performance and growth.
• Customer centric leader with the ability to translate insight into strategy and business plans that can be delivered in an omnichannel way
• Deep expertise in UK healthcare, pharmacy and medicines management, with a strong understanding of the evolving healthcare and regulatory landscape.
• Proven success in developing and delivering commercial and customer-focused strategies that drive sustainable growth, market share, customer value, and business performance.
• Strong understanding of omnichannel healthcare and retail environments, with a proven ability to create seamless customer experiences across store and digital channels.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, and deliver results in complex, fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
• Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams within matrix organisations, fostering collaboration, accountability and organisational capability.
• A deep understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in a healthcare setting.
