• Services delivered in store: Boots Opticians Guildford is a large, well-established practice with three clinics, including a dedicated Pre-Registration clinic, providing a varied and rewarding clinical environment. The store is equipped with Optomap technology, supporting enhanced eye health assessments and exceptional patient care.
• Team structure: You will join a friendly, positive and supportive team led by an experienced Assistant Manager. Working alongside experienced optical colleagues, you'll benefit from a collaborative culture that encourages development, teamwork and the delivery of outstanding patient care.
Located just a short walk from Guildford's vibrant High Street, the store is ideally positioned in one of Surrey's most desirable towns. With its blend of historic charm, excellent shopping, cafés, restaurants and green spaces, Guildford offers a fantastic place to build your career. The town also benefits from excellent transport links to London and the wider South East, making it an ideal location for commuters.
The standard working pattern is 9:00am–5:30pm, however we understand the importance of flexibility and are happy to discuss alternative shift patterns where possible to support individual needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Contact Lens Optician looking to join a busy, modern practice with a supportive team, advanced clinical technology and excellent opportunities for career development.
As a qualified Contact Lens Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in store across our clinics and the wider store to support the day to day operations, reporting to the Store Manager/Hub Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Using your passion for delivering patient care you'll work with colleagues to deliver a positive customer journey.
- Building longstanding relationships – not only with colleagues and customers but with healthcare professionals in the local community and explore the opportunities for delivering enhanced services
- Using your up to date knowledge of Contact Lens technology and spectacle dispensing to train and develop the wider optical team.
- Validating complex prescriptions and vulnerable groups and providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
- Opportunity to supervise a Student Contact Lens Optician/Student Dispensing Optician
