This is a permanent Dispensing Optician opportunity based at our Bury St Edmunds Brentgovel practice, with the flexibility to also support our Cornhill store. This role is available full-time or part-time (30–37.5 hours).
You’ll be joining a unique, characterful store in the heart of historic Bury St Edmunds, working within a close-knit and supportive team of 5 colleagues. The practice offers a varied patient base and a great opportunity to build strong patient relationships in a community-focused setting.
The role offers flexible working across a 7-day operation, with the option of alternate weekend working or regular Saturdays, making it adaptable to suit individual needs.

As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
- Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
- Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.
- Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
- Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
- Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
- Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
- Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.
