We’re looking for a Dispensing Optician to join our Altrincham store, with flexible hours available (full-time or part-time) depending on the candidate.
The store is a busy practice located in the centre of Altrincham, offering a mix of customers and a strong designer frame offering.
The practice is based within a Boots UK store with Hearing Care and has 2 testing rooms with 25-minute testing times.
You’ll be joining a team of 14 colleagues, including 3 resident Optometrists and 1 Pre-Registration Optometrist.
The store was recently refitted in September 2025, providing a modern clinical and retail environment.
Store opening hours are 9:00–17:30, and the role will include flexible weekend working, typically one weekend day.
Newly qualified Dispensing Opticians will be considered, and the store is looking for someone who is keen to become a long-term member of the team.
The store is well connected by public transport, located close to the tram stop and bus station, with discounted parking available in the multi-storey car park above the store.

As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
- Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
- Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.
- Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
- Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
- Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
- Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
- Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.
