About the role

Are you a passionate, dedicated Registered Nurse looking for a flexible and innovative role in healthcare? Join our dynamic team at Boots Online Doctor and play a key part in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a rapidly evolving digital health environment.

● To work within a team, helping to foster a culture of clinical excellence, support and transparency. To practice high emotional intelligence.

● Use our secure IT platform for all patient interactions.

● Respond to patient queries that come through as messages to our service. Give advice either via messaging or telephone calls. The main area of need is in our weight loss service.

● Follow our guidelines for advice and guidance given to patients.

● Ensure messages are replied to in a helpful, kind and timely manner.

● Telephone or undertake video consultations when needed.

● Work within your competency (training provided where needed), develop and grow competencies.

● Engage with the wider team looking at ways to improve our services and efficiency.

● Attend our training events and take part in clinical meetings.

● Maintain your own skills, professional revalidation and CPD.

● Work in a hybrid or remote setting

What you’ll need to have

● Registered with the NMC

● Qualified for a minimum of 3 years

● You will be a confident practitioner, with a wide scope of practice.

● You will be aware of your own limitations and of relevant national guidelines.

● You will have experience of consulting with patients and making independent decisions.

● You will be able to make decisions promptly and know when to ask for help.

● You will have a can-do attitude and be committed to always improving our services.

● You will be a flexible team player who can thrive in our innovative and forward-thinking culture.

● You will be a supportive colleague, willing to help other members of the team when needed.

● Excellent written and spoken English.

It would be great if you also have

● Post-graduate certificate in either consultation and assessment; minor illness; general practice nursing or similar.

● Further education in Health Promotion and Public Health.

● Experience of GLP-1 use in weight loss

● Experience in general practice and/or a weight management clinic.

● Experience counseling patients about lifestyle impacts on their health.

● Experience in contraception.

● Experience in a range of areas commonly seen in primary care; such as dermatology, sexual health, travel, women’s health, men’s health and UTI amongst others.

● Audit processes.

● Previous remote/online consulting experience.
