The hourly rate for this role is £12.36 and up to £13.53 across selected locations within London.
By joining our team, you will be working on behalf of Our Future Health, a charity in partnership with the NHS and aiming to become the UK’s largest ever health research programme. Together, we are bringing people together to develop new ways to prevent, detect, and treat diseases. The programme will collect information from millions of volunteers across the UK, helping people live healthier lives for longer by transforming the prevention, detection, and treatment of conditions such as dementia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
Your main duties will include:
Warmly welcoming participants, verifying their details, and providing clear explanations of the Phlebotomy procedure. Conducting measurements such as height, weight, and waist circumference.
Managing clerical responsibilities including coordinating appointment bookings for our phlebotomy service and ensuring adequate stock levels of essential materials for seamless service delivery.
Taking and maintaining venous blood samples from participants
In addition to phlebotomy services, you will support on the healthcare counter, providing valuable support to patients and customers. This includes offering informed advice on healthcare products and services, empowering our customers and patients to make well-informed healthcare decisions.
You will also have the opportunity to complete an NVQ2 Healthcare training programme,
What you’ll need to have
Previous experience as a Phlebotomist is desirable, but we will consider applicants without experience and provide full training.
Ability to work calmly under pressure within a busy team, as well as independently.
Empathetic, approachable, and able to interact sensitively.
Digitally savvy and comfortable embracing technology.
Passionate about healthcare and customer care.
Prepared to learn and complete a Healthcare Training Programme at NVQ2 or equivalent.
