About the role:

We have a fantastic opportunity in Boots Opticians to join our team as an Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist. This is a varied role where you will support all elements of our internal communications plan and provide creative support for Internal Communications and Engagement materials for Boots Opticians team members and store teams.

You will ensure the business can connect, engage, and inspire its team members. You will advise and work closely with a variety of stakeholders to support, advise, own, and help to bring to life the many exciting campaigns and projects we have happening across the business.

Meaningful and effective internal communications are at the heart of our culture – and this role is key to ensuring we connect with all our team members in the right ways at the right times and enable our people to thrive at work and connect with each other.

You will have a passion for communication and people engagement. We’re also looking for someone who has creative skills and flair to help bring to life the content we are sharing both digitally and face to face.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Internal Communications & Engagement Manager with all internal communications and opportunities to own, lead and deliver communications plans for projects across various functions such as DE&I, Wellbeing and Trading
• Joint owner of our communications channels on Teams, Intranet (SharePoint) and owning our monthly newsletter.
• Design assets, materials, and content to share in our comms channels such as vlogs, videos, posters and templates using our brand guidelines
• Support with planning and content for face-to-face events such as Best of the Best Awards, Annual Conferences and Support Office events
• Support with regular communications activity and co-manage our mailbox for enquiries and maintain our existing communications to ensure we always have regular and timely content updates
• Support Intranet (InSight) champions to self-manage content pages and ensure the communications hub and homepage are updated regularly

What you’ll need to have:

• You will have a passion for a career in internal communications and be someone who is keen to learn about the business and is excited to be at the heart of creating engaging and creative content for all of our team members
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and working closely with people at all levels to support and influence what we share in our communication channels
• Creative skills required – Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or other suitable platforms to be able to quickly support with creative requests and continue with our leader vlogs and video content
• Excellent writing and verbal skills and confident to connect with stakeholders and have meaningful conversations with them to be able to unearth and bring to life stories and content
• Use you planning and organisation skills to manage your time and workload and equally be able to manage the expectations of your stakeholders during busy periods
