Reporting into the Category Director for Technology & Professional Services, you will be part of a high performing category team of c.10 procurement professionals managing a substantial range of projects and ongoing stakeholder and supplier relationships.

ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be the Software Procurement expert for Walgreens Boots Alliance’s businesses located outside the US.
The overriding responsibility is to deliver the best possible value to Walgreens Boots Alliance from 3rd party relationships within the category by:

• Leading the development, implementation and ongoing management of procurement category strategies at a local, regional or group-wide level.
• Working with stakeholders (functional, procurement and supplier), to develop strategy and tactics for procurement category initiatives, providing thought leadership; identifying, creating and implementing initiatives to maximize value and ensure ongoing management of existing supplier contracts and relationships.
• Project managing work-streams and initiatives within the category to ensure timely delivery of objectives, ensuring all necessary processes, including formal stakeholder approvals are completed.
• Providing commercial leadership to stakeholders including senior executives
• Playing a role in the continuous development of the Boots procurement team

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE
The role is focused on Software agreements (mainly Enterprise level arrangements) and will require existing expertise in the field. You will need to be able to apply your Software knowledge and provide effective and credible commercial guidance in often complex scenarios.

• You are able to operate collaboratively within a complex environment
• You have in-depth Procurement knowledge in Technology and specifically in Enterprise Software
• You have experience of successfully delivering at pace whilst working on a wide range of initiatives
• You have industry knowledge and category insights to provide knowledge-based challenge to stakeholders and suppliers alike
• You are commercially astute with strong communication and negotiation skills and adept at applying a variety of commercial approaches to deliver real value to the business
