System Validation & Improvement Manager

We are looking for a passionate, forward thinking individual to join our brilliant team as a System and Validation & Improvement Manager.

About the opportunity

This role includes supporting operations for different product categories, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices, by ensuring that any IT system involved in regulated activity are validated for use. The System Validation & Improvement Manager ensures that these systems are specified, designed, built, tested and maintained in line with regulatory expectations and best practice standards throughout their lifecycle. The System Validation & Improvement Manager will also work closely with the Application Support Manager and functional SMEs to drive continuous improvement of regulatory systems and processes.

• Develop the validation management system taking into account the appropriate GxP standards
• Lead, manage and develop the organisation’svalidation capability, including performance management and resource planning (longer term)
• Develop and socialise appropriate procedures to be used for validation of computerized systems
• Act as the quality contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for computer systems validation and risk management across the organisation
• Provide representation at regulatory inspections, senior management meetings and to offer support for the content of the validation master plan (VMP)
• Maintain communication to Senior Management, other team leads, regulatory bodies and customers (internal and external) where appropriate
• Act in an internal consultancy capacity to guide and support the wider organisation project teams in the implementation and management of application as required
• Support project teams, in line with business need, in implementing computer systems within the organisation on time, within budget and in a quality manner
• Support the Application Support Manager in impact assessment of changes and upgrades to ensure continued business improvement and maintain the appropriate quality status of the impacted application
• Ensure all validated application systems are managed in the appropriate manner to maintain that status throughout their lifecycle
• Liaise with external validation service providers for consultancy services where required
• Identify and drive changes to business processes impacting regulatory systems – spanning across operational as well as IT functions

About you:

• Knowledge of computer systems validation regulations and best practice processes to satisfy these, e.g. GAMP
• Knowledge of data integrity expectations within the regulated industries
• Knowledge of all aspects of application implementation methods including project planning; requirements development; design review; testing stages, methodologies and tools; application system training; application system release and ongoing maintenance practices
• Knowledge of quality risk management and problem-solving
• Knowledge of service management frameworks, e.g. ITIL
• Technically minded yet business driven
• Excellent listening, interpersonal, planning, prioritization and communication skills
• Capable of building trust and relationships at all levels
• Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks whilst under pressure
• Proven abaility to identify and deliver improvements in a structured manner
