Application Security Consultant

WBA are seeking an Application Security Consultant to join our growing International InfoSec team within WBA. This role has the flexibility to work from either our London, Weybridge or Nottingham offices on a flexible office/home hybrid approach.

The Application Security Consultant is responsible for two key areas that form part of our Application Security assurance program:

• Penetration Testing coordination and management

In order that tests are conducted in a timely fashion for new, changed or to meet regular testing requirements, the Consultant will ensure that all tests are suitably scoped. Executed, assessed and remediated through an end to end process. The role also requires the management of a third part Penetration Testing service provider and will operate as the relationship manager with that provider.

• Engagement with Development Teams to ensure strong security practices in place

The role will take responsibility for engagement with Development teams to ensure that security testing, (SAST) is deployed within their pipelines and is operating effectively. You will be a champion for Application Security controls and will responsible for gathering metrics form the relevant teams to demonstrate scope of testing coverage and remediation activity. The role will support continuous improvement in the security area to ensure that suitable tools are deployed to improve code quality and reduce security defects early in the development cycle.

Job Responsibilities

• Leads the Application Security activities for the WBA Information Security team
• Works as a team member on problems of moderate scope, complexity, or diversity
• May lead small projects and typically works on assignments of small to moderate scope in multiple technology platforms/business areas
• Responsible for policy development in Application Security area
• Conducts security process administration including coordination of vulnerability and flaw remediation
• Works with internal technology groups, development teams and partners to ensure currency of security processes in development pipelines
• Manages encryption protocols to protect the organization's data as well as management of authentication and access controls
• Monitors overall compliance with application security standards and conducts periodic security audits
• Effectively resolves problems and roadblocks as they occur

• Strong security knowledge across domains
• Experience of Application Security management and improvements
• Can work independently and work with teams to drive imporvemnets in security capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills
• Good knowledge of Vulnerabilities and flaws and related standards
• Security qualifications preferred
