Global Chemical Manager

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen to work in a dynamic, fast growing beauty business as Global Chemical Manager.

This is a core business role supporting the development and implementation of our chemical strategy. You will work in conjunction with a wide group of cross-functional global stakeholders in the UK, the US and in Asia, as well as a vast array of external stakeholders in global regions.

About the opportunity

As Global Chemical Manager for No7 Beauty Company, you will be pivotal in shaping the business approach to chemical management. You will lead a team consisting of a Global Chemical Advisor and will be the central point of chemical expertise within the business.

Reporting into The Global Head of Regulatory for No7 Beauty Company, this role is responsible for globally co-ordinating our activities around chemical management, ensuring a robust process is in place for No7 Beauty Company products.

• Responsible for developing and implementing No7BC process for complying with UK/EU REACH and equivalent chemical management requirements in other markets. Including reporting requirements.
• Working with global and local regulatory teams to co-ordinate chemical intelligence into the central horizon scanning activity of the team.
• Accountable for setting and implementing the global Chemical Stewardship programme for No7BC.
• Provide the business with clear recommendations and coordinate and interface with the relevant subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure implementation of the decision/strategy.
• Represent No7BC externally as an opinion leader, build strong external networks, identifying risks and opportunities in the external environment and influencing and lobbying authorities and regulatory bodies where appropriate to protect No7BC brand equity.

About you

• At least 10 years of experience working in a regulatory/chemical related function, preferably in the Cosmetics/Beauty industry (or FMCG Environment)
• Experience in line management with proven leadership skills across team of subject matter experts
• Strategic thinker with a hand-on approach
• Ability to translate threats into opportunities and to find innovative approaches and solutions
• Great communication skills, with an ability to use in depth scientific expertise to deliver a consumer and commercial relevant recommendation
