Assistant Imports Manager

A fantastic opportunity to join our Imports & Exports Team based in Nottingham. We are looking for someone passionate about international trade. This role would be suited to someone with an imports/shipping background who can support the delivery of our finished goods and components.

About the opportunity

The Imports & Exports Team is a shared service function in No7 Beauty Company Supply and we manage the international movement of goods for No7 Beauty Company, Boots UK and Boots Retail Ireland.

The Assistant Imports Manager reports to the Imports & Exports Manager and is responsible for imports from predominantly South East Asia.

We are looking for someone who can:
• Manage our 3PLs to deliver imported goods on time to maximise stock availability for our customers
• Provide accurate classification of products for Customs to ensure the correct rates of duty are applied and all documentary requirements are met
• Provide guidance to the business on best practice and import legislation (E.g. incoterms, transit times)
• Maintain our current SOP’s in line with our regulatory requirements and internal business procedures
• Work closely with our Customs Compliance Team and major internal stakeholders such as Boots UK and No7 Beauty Company Supply Teams, Commercial Teams and Finance

About you

• The ideal candidate for this role will have had experience and understanding of international supply chains including Customs procedures, Classification and various modes of transport
• Able to demonstrate proactivity, high levels of attention to detail and can prioritise and manage workload well, particularly within a Seasonal workload peak.
• A confident communicator, in both verbal and written communication, being able to build positive relationships cross functionally and manage stakeholders at different levels of the organisation
• Passionate about continuous improvement and customer service
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to gain a comprehensive understanding of numerous service provider systems
