Welcome to the team – an exciting team within Boots UK which is at the heart of our growth plans as more customers look to us for online help, advice and shopping inspiration, as well as of course the best Boots products, prices and offers. This UX developer role sits within our Optimisation Team, where we focus on using data-driven methods, innovative ways of thinking and AB testing to deliver better experiences for our customers and drive business growth.

Your Responsibilities:

• Take a high volume of test designs and concepts, developing the JavaScript & CSS needed to deploy as a test through Adobe Target
• Use customer insights, performance data and business objectives to develop creative test ideas, concepts and designs in collaboration with the wider Optimisation Team
• Continuously develop your skillset as a developer through on-the-job training and practice
• Apply your knowledge and creativity to generate innovative solutions to customer and business problems
• Develop processes and ways of working, adhering to best practice where possible to minimise defects in production
• Collaborate in code reviews, always striving to improve the standard of your code and others within the team
• Provide support to wider UX teams, offering guidance on how ideas can be translated into quick-to-market experimentation solutions
• Work with third-party suppliers in the onboarding and testing of their platforms on, acting as technical lead on trial projects
• Become an expert within the field, ensuring that the Optimisation team continue to push boundaries with brand new, innovative concepts that can be built, tested and delivered

Our ideal candidate:

• Front-end development skills with awareness of visual design
• Foundational skills across HTML, Javascript and CSS3. Experience with Node & SASS a bonus.
• Ability to solve problems through code and visual design skills
• An understanding of responsive design and building user-friendly interfaces across devices
• Capable of working with design tools e.g. Sketch/Figma
• A passion for coding and building on your skillsets through on-the-job training and practice
• Unafraid to challenge yourself, fail and learn for your own growth and development
• Familiarity with AB tests, conversion rate optimisation and using insights to develop excellent customer experiences would be desirable
• An understanding of core UX principles
• Keen eye for detail
• Exceptional stakeholder management, collaboration and communications skills
• Eagerness to question the status quo, push boundaries and not be afraid to challenge
• Proactive, investigative mindset with an enthusiasm for experimentation and innovation
