This Assistant Optimisation Manager role is in our Optimisation team – where we focus on using data-driven methods, innovative ways of thinking and AB testing to deliver better experiences for our customers and drive business growth.

With that, our Optimisation team is growing, matching an increased demand for data-driven change and AB testing.

About the opportunity
As Assistant Optimisation Manager, you’ll work with Optimisation specialists across Insights, UX and Development to shape and deliver our testing and personalisation strategies. Together, you’ll focus on using data and creativity to understand customer pain points and generate innovative solutions for testing. You’ll work with data, support in ideation and design, and manage hypotheses through from inception to live experiments.

You’ll have a passion for understanding customer issues, learning, shaping experiences and applying creativity, and will revel in the opportunity to drive significant growth for one of the UK’s leading eCommerce websites.

• Responsible for managing the day-to-day activity within the Optimisation squads, including removing blockers to ensure activities run on time and acting as a key contact for escalations across Optimisation, identifying and fixing issues, resolving queries and providing advice
• Work alongside team members from Insights, Digital Product, UX and Commercial teams to take hypotheses from inception to test delivery and post-test reporting
• Be involved in and support business projects with varying levels of complexity through to delivery, identifying and feeding in any Optimisation requirements or inputs
• Capture and support requests from wider teams and senior stakeholders for key initiatives, challenging ways of thinking, always focusing on why and proving value. Building these requests into the optimisation roadmap to guide the overall strategy.
• Work across teams within (and wider business) to formulate and test web personalisation strategies
• Progress trials with 3rd parties, analysing results and sharing with the wider business
• Keep abreast of ongoing commercial aims of, as well as industry tools and trends, to spot new opportunities for testing and innovation

About you
• Proven experience within conversion rate optimisation and AB testing, or in a fast-paced ecommerce role for a large retail business
• Able to work within a fast-paced, always changing eCommerce environment and comfortable managing your own workload
• Strong numeracy skills, ideally with experience in analysing, understanding and reporting online behaviours using web analytics platforms (ideally Google Analytics) and qualitative data sources (such as surveys, session replay and heatmapping)
• Data driven, with an ability to ask the right questions and think strategically, to not be afraid to challenge others and question the status quo
• Experience in analysing A/B test results, translating findings into user stories, actionable insights and recommendations
• Great stakeholder management, collaboration and communications skills that will enable you to work with multiple teams from across the business
• Proactive, investigative mindset with an enthusiasm for experimentation and innovation, and passion for identifying areas for improvement
• Strong knowledge of AB/MV testing tools, processes and strategies would be a bonus
• Experience in front-end web design and development (HTML, CSS, Javascript/jQuery) would be a bonus
• An ‘eye for detail’ and creative flair would be a bonus
