Head of Global Quality

Boots and No.7 Beauty Company are committed to developing leading Health and Beauty products for our customers and patients in the UK and globally. In this newly created role as Head of Global Quality you’ll be accountable for all aspects of quality for our own product brands. You’ll set the overall strategy for the quality, lead and develop the Quality Management system, develop policies & procedures, best practice and monitor performance to ensure a culture of quality and continuous improvement across Boots and No.7 Beauty Company.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the VP Commercial Services, Boots and VP Technical No.7 Beauty Co. this role is a great opportunity to optimise the quality management system, processes and operational quality teams supporting both Boots Retail & retail brands and No7 Beauty Co. Brands (No7, Liz Earle, Soap & Glory etc). This will include:

  • Leading the Quality team to ensure all business, regulatory compliance and team development requirements are met.
  • Owning the development, deployment and maintenance of the GQMS ensuring compliance with all global & WBA requirements and the regulatory requirements for a wide range of products classifications including Medicines, Medical Devices, Monograph and Cosmetics and ensuring all appropriate audit standards are met.
  • Ensuring the effective triage, investigation & management of consumer complaints & feedback ensuring any required improvement activity is managed & communicated effectively
  • Leading the management of serious-incident investigation and manages the product recall process, ensuring appropriate business escalation & stakeholder management as required.
  • Ensuring appropriate on-boarding, development and risk management of supplier base to quality policies and requirements.
  • Ensuring market insights drive continuous improvement to product quality and enable product maintenance activities
  • Providing expert quality guidance across the business coaching and mentoring to own team and partners with business units to ensure quality is embedded across all product related activities.

About you

The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced and inspirational quality leader with in-depth knowledge of the systems and operational activities required to support the marketing of medicines, medical devices, food supplements, cosmetics and general products. Key attributes are:
  • A highly effective Quality leader with a proven track record of leading and developing a team of quality professionals and subject matter experts
  • An excellent and impactful influencer with proven senior stakeholder management experience with the ability to remain calm and lead through serious incident investigations and demonstrate pragmatic decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory landscapes for our retail and CPG brands (MHRA/FSA/BSI/HPRA/FDA etc) and experience of leading audits with regulators.
  • Significant experience of implementing quality management systems, quality reporting mechanisms with a track record of delivering sustainable quality improvement.
