Data Analyst

Security is a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding area of the business that is constantly evolving. We work with colleagues across the support office, supply chain and stores to protect our assets, colleagues, customers to maximise our opportunities.

Working as part of the loss function, this data led role is fundamental in driving insight, decisions and learnings to inform the business on areas of risk to our people, assets and property.

A curious and problem-solving mindset will help unpick new and challenging situations whilst confidently communicating with key stakeholders. A pacey and exciting role where every day is varied but the basics of the role must still be delivered with discipline and strong oversight.

The role is based in D90 with an element of hybrid working being possible, where it meets the needs of the business.

Your Responsibilities

• Identifying opportunities for alternative solutions to meet the ever-changing risks to the business through analysis of the data and insight, overlaying market research where appropriate
• Ensure appropriate tracking is in place to track the success of security initiatives against agreed KPIs, taking action where required to re-engage business partners
• Produce regular reports to help the business understand the impact of security related activity across the Estate and help develop plans to mitigate threats accordingly
• Horizon scanning for potential threats to our people, property, crime and associated losses alongside wider business activity
• To own, develop and maintain the Boots UK risk model enabling the business to make informed decisions relating to risk and protecting our team members
• Working in partnership with subject matter experts to develop new tools to empower stores when dealing with how to best protect their people, prevent/respond to crime and loss
• Supporting the protection of people and loss agenda by creating a self-help hub for efficient and timely reporting tools
• Owning, maintaining and increasing accessibility to all key policies relating to security, threat, risk, people protection and loss

• Has a strong analytical mindset with a genuine curiosity to understand the what and the why
• Is resourceful with the ability to retrieve and organise information from a variety of sources and develop insights that educates the business regarding risk
• Exceptional and effective verbal and written communication skills that engages and informs the audience with a people first mindset
• Able to learn at pace, digesting new information and understanding what is important within the complexity
• Has excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met with the ability to prioritise without supervision

• Understand retail and the factors that affect crime and loss within the community
• Comfortable with a certain level of ambiguity to find innovative ways to turn unknowns into knowns
• Enjoys working with people and in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
