A wonderful opportunity for an experienced Sourcing or Procurement professional operating at buying manager level to join our Global Sourcing team within the EU Sourcing division in Nottingham on a temporary one year contract (maternity cover). The role offers hybrid working and will involve some European travel when current restrictions allow.

About the opportunity

As a buying Manager in the Boots brand team you will be responsible for the execution of strategies and ongoing management of spend across key categories within Healthcare. Reporting into the Senior Sourcing Manager for Boots UK, you will lead a team of buyers, and be empowered to manage your own category portfolio to deliver business results. You will be part of the EU sourcing team and will be accountable for driving profit enhancement and enabling differentiated product development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Senior Buyers and Buyers to deliver breakthrough levels of performance by deploying exceptional leadership skills, managing stakeholders effectively and through continuous coaching of cross-functional teams.
  • Supports the development and implementation of business plans and budgets, including long-range objectives, performance goals and metrics. Accountable for driving cost benefits and creating a future pipeline of benefits across your portfolio of categories and accurate and timely reporting
  • Accountable for creating category procurement strategies, which deliver to business strategies and goals.
  • Managing of on-going vendor relationships and supplier performance across multiple categories of portfolio; ensures regular supplier meetings takes place and implements improvement strategies with suppliers.
  • Management of multiple projects within the portfolio

About you
  • A team leader with a track record of developing your team
  • Experience managing multiple variable negotiations for spend categories >$50m million dollars ideally on a global level
  • Experience implementing category sourcing strategies with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results
  • Experience working with Profit & Loss (P&L) concepts, such as revenue, COGS, gross profit margin, operating expenses and cash flow with a view to identifying and delivering profit enhancement opportunities
  • A strong Cross functional player with excellent stakeholder management & communication skills
  • Experienced in understanding commodity markets, supply chains and NPD delivery.
