An exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced individual to programme manage two of our most important programmes within Pharmacy.

About the opportunity

You will be responsible for the programme management of our Flu programme and our Testing and Diagnostics programme. Both are an essential part of the Pharmacy 3-year plan, generating significant revenue and AOI business benefit, whilst their successful implementation is vital to the ongoing health and wellbeing of millions of our customers and patients, enabling our store colleagues to fulfil their important healthcare role within their communities and support the NHS.

The role reports to the Senior Programme Manager, who is accountable for the programme management of the portfolio of all programmes within Pharmacy, as part of our 3-year plan. The role will work closely with the programme teams and the Director of Healthcare Services, who has ultimate accountability for the success of these key programmes.

• Accountable for programme managing these two vital Healthcare Services programmes
• Utilises appropriate ways of working in programme set up and ongoing management (waterfall and/or agile) to suit each programme
• Proactively seeks out and surfaces recommendations to adapt programme ways of working to balance programme due diligence and the need to hit key deadlines
• Embraces and quickly adapts to the high level of change within Healthcare services from the government, NHS, health authorities, competitors and the market place
• Drives a delivery mindset through the programme teams, holding all accountabilities to milestone achievement
• Pre-emptive in identifying, recommending and facilitating the mitigation of any challenges to time/cost/KPI performance (includes working closely with Finance Leads)
• Works collaboratively with the other programmes within the Pharmacy portfolio, sharing learnings to drive consistency and continuous improvement
• Creates and runs critical paths, RAG reports, weekly/monthly/senior leadership reporting etc and develops further documentation required to support programme management
• Owns the set up and running of all programme governance meetings within the programmes they are managing, including forward action planning and review

About you

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, strong relationship builder
• Responsiveness, flexibility and adaptability
• Confident with decision making and holding all levels of stakeholders to account
• Professional programme management qualification or experience (3 years+)
• Experience in working with both traditional waterfall and flexible agile methodologies
