The Planning Specialist will be responsible for producing a simple and manageable Store Activity Plan to support delivering appropriate and timely communication to our shops. Working closely with all functions across the support office to ensure activity lands in store at the most appropriate time suitable for the individual store but also the business.

About the opportunity

The role sits within the Boots Hub team, which covers store activity planning, store communications and insights. The successful candidate will:

• Support the Hub Board process ensuring Store Activity Plans are signed off at least 3 months in advance and that the Annual Plan is maintained.
• Ensure planned workload is matched to store capacity. Hold the tension across the business where workload exceeds capacity and facilitate the removal, rescheduling or reduction of planned work.
• Be flexible to adapt plans to changing business requests/priorities
• Support the production of up to date plans to share with Stores & Area Managers on a monthly basis
• Support the creation of weekly/monthly dashboards to allow overviews of the plans
• Run meetings with stakeholders, being able to share an overarching view of the business as a whole
• Demonstrate great understanding of the activity & comms for the areas responsible for, as well as understanding the impacts of activities from other areas
• Use curiosity when working with stakeholders to fully understand activity & comms requests
• Consider all requests from a store’s point of view & challenged when necessary

About you

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• A good understanding of stores and operational activity
• Excellent relationship building skills, able to engage and influence colleagues across the business
• Ability to produce detailed and relevant workload plans
• Ability to work collaboratively across all functions within the business
• Ability to work at pace and demonstrates good time management
• Makes connections across the organisation offering support and challenge
