The Senior Finance Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis (Central) will provide clear reporting and analysis to ensure understanding and alignment of in-year performance on an ongoing basis and on a quarterly basis to support the WBA external announcements. You will have ownership of the monthly financial reporting to the Exec and Group - bringing a holistic understanding of performance alongside insight and challenge. You will have the ability to draw business/market perspectives to help understand the underlying performance and trends.

About the opportunity

Own and manage the monthly business board reporting process and submission, reviewing key commentary and insights pages, reviewing outputs, whilst continuously driving efficiency and improvements in insight.
Responsibility for the monthly working day process to gain insight into monthly performance across different areas of the business.
Lead the quarterly investor relations process; providing key deliverables to the group and helping manage the process around Q&As.
Responsibility for the CSR board report production, audit, and ongoing improvement.
Manage a direct team of three.
Manage technical and analytical support to the team in production on monthly executive packs and ad-hoc analysis for key stakeholders including CFO, Group teams, and wider business.
Responsibility for the budget, forecast, and month-end process for central functions including Finance, CSR/Comms, Insights, and Corporate Other.
Work alongside and support our Global FP&A colleagues on the Global FP&A transformation program.
Strong relationships with business partners, FP&A functional leads, financial control, and Group colleagues.

A bit about you…
  • You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with significant relative post qualification experience, ideally within commercial retail, FMCG or large businesses
  • Strong leadership skills - leading and developing individuals and teams
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and people leadership skills, in order to inspire, affect change and drive successful processes and performance
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, understanding the bigger picture whilst having good attention to detail.
