Cost Analyst – Boots Opticians

The role is responsible for managing costs for the business and producing reporting and analysis covering Property and CAPEX spend. There will also be the opportunity to be involved in projects and investment appraisals.

About the opportunity

Working for the Boots Opticians Finance team this L6 role will report to the Finance Manager – Cost Business Partner and will be responsible

• Reporting and analysis on key business areas, providing insight to support decision-making.
• Cost control and holding the business to account on spend versus benefit.
• Support for projects or initiatives providing costing analysis and data provision.
• Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations and controls are completed on a monthly basis
• Monthly and annual budgeting and forecasting for the areas for which this role is responsible.
• Develop and maintain monthly exec cost reporting and expenses reporting
• Support for store-level or support office queries as required

About you

• Qualified accountant (or working to qualification), with strong analytical experience and a good commercial understanding.
• Good communicator, who is able to interact with all levels including exec and is able to manage diverse workload to tight deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of Excel.
• Ability to constructive challenge more senior individuals responsible for cost ownership in a professional manner.
• Has a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to deliver changes
