We are instrumental in supporting & growing our Beauty Brands through understanding Consumer and Customer behaviour.

About the opportunity

Instrumental in delivering major projects for key brands, you will manage one analyst and a roster of Data & Marketing Science agencies that provides customer, product and brand insights. You will work in collaboration with our brands, trading and marketing teams, building the future of our brands through customer focused insights.

Leading and developing the team, influencing business decisions and growing customer engagement through innovative analysis and insight. You will develop a range of external data sources and team capability, enabling a broader understanding of brand and market performance, as well as internal data sources including our retailer loyalty data. You will grow our Social Listening capability and lead the delivery of our Marketing Science initiatives.

You will gain regular exposure to key partners within our business, with the challenge and responsibility to be at the forefront of developing customer understanding. We have a strong focus on development across the wider Global Insights team and we will provide opportunities and support for considerable personal growth and progression of analytical and leadership skills.

About you

• You will have managed projects working in conjunction with peers and senior colleagues
• To be an acknowledged leader on customer insight and be able to provide advice and guidance on best practice approaches
• You can lead development for direct reports; ability to enhance skills, knowledge and profile through 1-2-1s, role-modelling, mentoring, cross-team projects and motivation.
• Confident in presenting the ‘What’ and developing the ‘So What’
• You will be a key influencer, understanding and developing analysis solutions and how these can be applied to business challenges
• An exploratory approach to identifying new and improved data sources that develop insights capability across the team
• A good understanding of different data providers in the market and keep abreast of their evolution
• Ability to deliver end-to-end customer analysis; responding to briefs right through to impactful delivery of results and recommendations
• Have a deep understanding of customers, and proven ability of helping brand teams better understand who their customer is and when, where and how they are shopping our key brands.
• A good relationship builder, collaborating with internal and external partners at all levels, to understand their reporting and insights needs
• Ability to provide actionable insight and recommendations to steer business decisions

Technical Skills

• Experience of analysing large sets of data and exposure to a variety of analytical tools and techniques
• Experience of first-party data and broader market data across multiple sources
• Experience of digital data and marketing measurement & attribution modelling
• Experience of Social Listening
• Experience of combining multiple different data sets to enhance the richness of your analysis
• Be comfortable with using soft metrics alongside data to build a holistic story
• An ability to see the bigger picture: a problem solving approach that gets to the underlying business questions
• Experience of presenting recommendations & solutions as well as insights to partners who may not be analytical-minded and championing the voice of the customer.
