A role at the heart of Commercial Services, delivering a considered and consolidated Merchandising plan that optimises commercial opportunity whilst balancing capacity for our stores and supporting functions.

About the opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Merchandising Manager, the Merchandising Activity Planner forms and governs the annual plan for merchandising rebuild implementation in our stores. The plan must balance commercial and market opportunities with available store resource throughout the year.

• Enable delivery of the commercial plan through phased Merchandising activity
• Develop future options for the Merchandising Activity Plan including differentiation by Format
• Liaise primarily with Merchandising, Retail Hub, Supply, Marketing and Trading to balance the competing needs of the business and form a plan all stakeholders are aligned behind
• Chair regular governance sessions supporting the general Merchandising process and report progress accordingly
• Monitor and report against key strategic initiatives such as Sku count management and Merchandising KPIs
• Develop forum and processes for exceptional incremental activity and any subsequent trade-off requirement
• Work collaboratively with a wide cross-functional team

About you:

• A self-starter able to manage multiple senior stakeholders and navigate difficult trade-off conversations
• A strong eye for detail, and the ability to work accurately and to deadlines whilst holding others to account for their role within the processes
• Strong technical skills in order to develop future-thinking and application of ambition
• Be able to embrace and positively react to change
• Have the confidence to share your ideas with a variety of stakeholders, and the ability to discuss and understand the views of others
