A COVID-19 Testing Service Advisor will be the member of the team that customers will see and speak to when they come into store for a Covid-19 test. They will need to deliver first class care and direction for every customer, welcoming them and putting them at ease, collecting the swab sample, preparing paperwork, packaging samples and completing the test process for rapid antigen tests. The COVID-19 Testing Service Advisor will be an integral part of the pharmacy and healthcare team working in our store that provide the COVID-19 Testing Services. This position will be based within select stores.This opportunity is to work as a COVID-19 Testing Service Advisor as part of your weekly contracted hours for a set shift. The remainder of the week outside of the COVID-19 Testing Service hours will be spent carrying out normal duties.

About the opportunity

As a COVID-19 Testing Service Advisor you will complete the COVID-19 test sample collection, associated administration tasks and complete the test process for rapid antigen tests. The on-duty pharmacist will provide support with queries

You can expect your role to include, but not be limited to;
  • Delivering brilliant customer care
  • Greeting customers arriving for pre-booked COVID-19 Testing Service appointments
  • Checking customers have an appointment on the booking system and ensuring they are in the right placeat the right time
  • Checking and verifying customer data and completing a COVID-19 Testing Service Patient Information Form, which checks they don’t have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone with symptoms
  • Accurately entering customer data and details relating to the test on the COVID-19 test electronic portal
  • Reviewing appointment bookings the day before and getting customer record forms and sample collection consumables ready for the next day’s clinic
  • Ensuring that sufficient consumable stock is available and ordering replenishment as necessary e.g.tubes, swabs & labels
  • Collecting swab samples from customers mouth and nose
  • Processing the sample using approved packaging and materials for onward courier to the lab, placed into tube containing transport medium with correct label attached and securely packaged
  • Completion of rapid test in store following test instructions that includes placing swab in tube, applying solution to a test strip and reading a test strip after defined period of time
  • Posting customers rapid test onto the testing portal
  • Working with sensitivity and complying with required governance, policies and standard operating procedures
  • Compliance with all health and safety rules and procedures to ensure their own personal safety as well as that of other team members and customers
  • Acting as a supportive member of the team, working collaboratively to achieve team and organisational goals
