WBA have launched WBA Digital & IT Solutions (Ireland) Limited, this exciting new CoE will manage the software service platform offering for the Pharmacy teams and will run software on a Software as a Service model.
The creation of this Center of Excellence allows WBA to establish an innovation hub for additional intellectual property projects in the future and now an opportunity for a Finance Director to join and shape the Pharmacy Digital CoE.

About the opportunity

Acting as a strategic partner to the General Manager and their leadership team, you will be playing a key role in the establishment of a world class Digital CoE in Dublin, and in its further growth as a successful operation driving sustainable business value. You will develop financial forecasts and resource allocation in support of business goals; providing subject matter expertise and guidance regarding all finance related decisions and providing direction and counsel in the development of long-range plans involving strategy development, resource allocation, work plans, timelines and financial outcomes. You will be expected to act as a sounding board to the General Manager and stretch beyond the traditional finance role that establishes the CoE as a best in class for WBA.. You will be responsible for:

Supporting the performance management of the Digital CoE ensuring that strong financial controls are maintained to ensure the delivery of the financial targets.
Providing leadership and direction to ensure the development of relevant and timely financial information; budgeting, planning and reporting for senior leadership and key stakeholders in WBA.
Leads the financial development of long-range plans involving strategy development, resource allocation, work plans, timelines and financial outcomes.
Evaluates strategies and goals of the Digital CoE in order to effectively monitor progress against them ensuring tax compliance.
Analyses the business performance to plan/forecast and recommend appropriate actions.
Develop and leads the local Finance team, maintaining alignment to the wider WBA Finance teams.
Oversees financial aspects of vendor negotiations, funding issues and related efforts.
Develops financial models, forecasts, proposals, presentations and performance measures to provide confidence to executives regarding financial status and decisions.
Managing and controlling the organization’s financial processes, making the necessary changes to upgrade and improve process, policies or procedures.
Work closely with Treasury, Accounting, Legal and Tax ensuring that the CoE maintains complaint with the operating rules established by the BOD’s.

About you

Fully qualified Finance Professional (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
Strong understanding of IFRS and US GAAP reporting in a global/international multi-site retail or technology organization.
Strong understanding of International tax principals including transfer pricing.
Strong understanding in treasury related matters.
A strategic decision maker and a passionate people leader who thrives on driving change and developing a high performing team.
Evidence of making a strong contribution to the overall management and development of a business, including sound financial control in an international accounting standards environment
A strong commercial orientation and high-level strategic thinking, capable of challenging the status quo in a constructive manner.
Significant experience of participating or leading financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial model development processes.
Significant thought leadership and solutions mindset with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
Experience of being part of a scaling/start up business; either standalone or as part of a wider corporate organization.
Experience of working within and navigating a complex matrix organization.
