This is an exciting opportunity to work with major cosmetic brands throughout their lifecycle in a market leading Global Company.

About the opportunity

As a Safety Manager you will use your expertise of data, to extract, analyse and interpret large amounts of data from a range of sources, using algorithmic, data mining, artificial intelligence, machine learning and statistical tools, in order to make it accessible to all the toxicologists. Once you've interpreted the data you'll present your results using clear and engaging language that can be applied to products both during Innovation and New Product Development (NPD) and throughout their lifecycle. You will update the safety frameworks designed to support routes to market, increasing pace to market and identify any safety concerns.
You will work across a wide group of stakeholders including Research and Development Managers, Product Managers, Brands Managers, Regulatory and Quality Managers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Apply your digital skills and automated approaches to create safety databases to support the safety of product from conception to launch. Build algorithms and design experiments to merge, manage, interrogate and extract data to supply tailored reports to the toxicologists
• Assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods to drive continuous improvement of the products and protect the brands and business
• Work closely with the Safety team to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making

About you

• MSc in Computer/Data Science/Toxicology and at least 5 years’ experience in FMCG, chemistry industry, cosmetics experience being an advantage
• Experience in the use of automation to generate datasets for decision making
• Outstanding technical capabilities and strong communication skills
• Strong problem-solving capability
• Familiar with machine learning approaches
• Be able to manage, influence stakeholders, think strategically, whilst at the same time managing the daily business at pace
