The Boots Opticians Finance team consists of around 22 people within two main functions; Financial Accounting and Commercial Finance. This role sits within Commercial Finance and reports to the Boots Opticians Finance Manager, Franchise.

The 5 Finance colleagues supporting the Franchise business are responsible for accurately recharging all Franchise Partners for their monthly goods and services usage, creating sales budgets and forecasts, completing investment appraisals for Franchise Partner portfolio movements, and supporting both Franchisees and the Franchise Operations teams with any ad hoc analysis and query resolution.

About the opportunity:

This role is responsible for ensuring all Boots Opticians Franchise Practices are accurately recharged and credited for their goods and services used through the month-end processes and managing associated Franchise Partner queries and analysis:

Ensuring all costs/recoveries are correctly calculated and levied on a timely basis, along with any credits due to Franchise Partners.
Communicating the monthly recharges to Franchise Partners.
Resolution of financial queries & issues raised by Franchise Partners.
Directly invoicing Franchise Partners as required
Completing final payment statements for Franchise Partners who exit the business.
Ad hoc analysis into franchise sales performance and costs.
Developing strong working relationships with the Franchise team and wider Finance team.
Primary stakeholders are Franchise Business Development Managers, Franchise Partners, Boots Opticians Finance team, and Boots UK Accounting Services.


About you:
  • Part qualified accountant (or with an intent to begin a qualification).
  • Ability to manage challenging stakeholders and operate with appropriate impact & influence.
  • Good communicator, commercially aware, who is able to manage diverse workloads to tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel is essential.
  • Experience of SAP Financials and Business Objects advantageous.
