Internal Communications Specialist

As Internal Communications Specialist you will support the ongoing successful delivery of the Boots UK internal communication strategy, ensuring the business can connect, engage, and inspire its team members. In this role, you will not only maximise our current channels, but look at innovative ways to grow our engagement. Internal Comms are at the heart of Boots and take pride in connecting with Team Members.

About the opportunity

This role needs someone who loves shaping and delivering bold and engaging team member comms in a fast-paced environment, with a good understanding of comms and engagement tools and techniques. With a creative mindset, great planning and curiosity, you bring projects, campaigns and events to life, both digitally and face to face.

• Support and deliver creative and engaging communication campaigns supporting our strategic priorities
• Support and deliver successful company events
• Support and deliver engaging and visual content across Boots internal channels both written and visual content including video and photography
• Create opportunities to support great conversations between leaders and managers through the core internal communication channels
• Measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of our comms activities
• Manage the successful delivery of business as usual communications activity and regular drumbeat of events
• A relationship builder with strong interpersonal skills - to work with peers and with senior/external stakeholders, confident in building and maintaining a network across the organisation


About you

• Excellent writing and verbal skills, with a passion for storytelling, creative use of language, visuals, flair and tone of voice to create compelling content in engaging formats
• Creative with an eye for design
• Technically competent with an excellent working knowledge of social media and digital technology
• Resilient, able to work and stay calm under pressure and to deadline
• Relationship builder with strong interpersonal skills - to work with peers and with senior/external stakeholders
• Connected with internal communications best practice
• Personal effectiveness – using planning and organisation to yield best results
• Be able to motivate colleagues and work well as part of a cross-functional team
• Travel will be required for meetings/events etc, flexibility for evening meeting/events attendance and working in stores at least 5 days per year.
