Delivery Manager – Patient, Pharmacy and Optician Platform

As a Delivery Manager you will ensure the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects within IT.
The role involves leading a multi-discipline delivery team and working largely on their own initiative within the framework agreed with the Senior Manager.
You will act as a point of contact for Project Managers when issues arise with the delivery of projects and take accountability for the resolution of these, involving architects, third parties and technical SME’s as needed.

About the opportunity

• Manage delivery for multiple large Digital Pharmacy projects within a complex technology and supplier landscape, aligning the technology delivery with other 3rd party supplier and business change plans
• Ability to manage project deliverables across multiple workstreams and supplier groups ensuring that plans, activities, dependent projects and other dependencies are sequenced and if necessary re-sequenced in line with agreed project governance to ensure successful outcomes
• Ensure that complex fixed price, time and materials (or combination of both) projects using waterfall, agile and hybrid project methodologies are shaped, estimated and resourced for success, including a fit for purpose Delivery Approach that enables the team to deliver outcomes efficiently, with minimum disruption from external influences.
• Provide a mentoring and coaching role across the portfolio, developing a framework that enables multiple teams to work towards the overall goal, including a proactive approach to problem solving and taking ownership of the outcomes
• Financial governance, control and reporting of project budgets, ensuring compliance with the corporate governance model and ensuring the funding model is aligned to the agreed delivery approach.

About you

• Experience in managing the successful delivery of multiple IT projects within a dynamic, retail environment using multiple IT project delivery methods and processes, including Agile, Waterfall and hybrid methodologies across vertical and horizontal functions and geographies. Including risk management and planning suitable responses and mitigations throughout the project lifecycle
• Experience in ensuring that delivery partners for complex commercial agreements effectively deliver to contractual commitments and that their plans, resourcing strategy and delivery approach are fit for purpose
• The ability to make decisions, lead/motivate teams and be recognised as a trusted partner whilst encouraging the adoption of a continuous improvement approach and the use of common collaborative delivery tools.
• Strong communicator, with the ability to manage and influence diverse stakeholder groups, and distil complex IT delivery into simple and relevant messages. Must be comfortable presenting in project forums at all levels
• Experience managing within fixed release cycles, ensuring that plans are agreed, and that working technology is successfully transitioned into the support and maintain services provided by our partners
• Extensive experience of Confluence and Jira tools required to support implementation methodology operations and MI
