Senior Finance Analyst - CMO (12 month FTC)

An exciting fixed term opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Global Cost Management Office (GCMO) at Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) as a Finance Senior Analyst – GCMO. The role is primarily focused on supporting Boots and the International businesses (for example Global Brands, International Retail) to consolidate cost saving initiatives and ensure correct governance is applied per the guiding principles of the GCMO.

About the opportunity

The role offers the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of the Group, giving a real opportunity for career development as well as delivering a large Global strategic project.

• Work closely with the businesses to support them in reporting their cost saving initiatives;
• Provide guidance to the businesses on capturing cost saving ideas, actuals and forecasts;
• Ensure the business comply with accepted accounting procedures and practices and the GCMO guidelines;
• Apply professional scepticism and challenge cost savings, one-time costs and working capital calculations provided by the businesses;
• Administer the controls around the reporting system;
• Work cross functional;
• Review papers relating to requests for one-time costs and Capex to deliver cost saving initiatives;
• Liaise with external auditors;
• Drive efficiencies through the month end process

About you

• Be a fully or part qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA);
• Possess first class stakeholder management skills and have the ability to work and communicate effectively with key individuals across the businesses and feels comfortable in challenging the status quo;
• Have good project management skills, being able to deliver to tight deadlines and manage a diverse workload;
• Have a broad understanding of finance processes and systems;
• Understand working capital and cash flow
• Have experience of month end reporting and forecasting
