The Business Analyst role is in the International Data & Analytics (D&A) platform team, part of the Global Chief Technology Office of Walgreens Boots Alliance. The International D&A platform team support the International divisions including Boots UK & ROI, No7 Beauty Company & International Retail to digitise and transform their data to a cloud-based D&A platform.

The Business Analyst role will be responsible for defining the Data & Analytics business requirements from International stakeholders and articulating this information to the D+A platform team to enable products to be defined, prioritised and delivered.
The role reports to the Business Partner Lead and works closely with Solutions Managers, Solution Architects & Data Managers to ensure new D+A products on the platform are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of the International stakeholders.

About the opportunity
• Responsible for investigating business situations, identifying and evaluating options for improving business systems, defining requirements and ensuring the effective use of information systems in meeting the needs of the business
• Act as an agent of change, who uses different analysis techniques to support business change activities
• Work collaboratively with business and IT stakeholders to define and capture the backlog of requirements/epics, including functional, non-functional and IT operational requirements for the project.
• Identify and agree which requirements form the minimum viable feature set that delivers the majority of the business case and those that are optional or deliver only a small incremental value compared with the cost to deliver
• Elicit requirements from project stakeholders using a variety of techniques as suitable, e.g. interviews, document analysis, requirements/process workshops, analytical techniques etc. Validate and capture the detail in the form of user stories or other documentation as appropriate
• Develop the requirements/backlog for each project initially at high/epic level and then drilling down to detailed requirements/user stories to enable the project team to develop solutions
• Represent the business and their requirements through the product lifecycle

About you

• You’ll have a passion for finding and delivering high quality solutions to solve business problems.
• University degree in IT/technology/engineering and at least 5 years of experience as a business analysis principles and practices
• Knowledge/experience of agile delivery methodologies
• Experience with requirements cataloguing, epics, user stories and working with team members for backlog refinement
• Experience of the design and development of IT solutions
• Good stakeholder management, communication & presentation skills
• Experience of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence and the Data Engineering needs to fulfil Business Intelligence and Analytics Solutions
• Appreciation of Data Security and governance
• Desirable to have exposure of working with matrix teams of multiple vendors and global teams in the design and delivery of projects
• Experience of working in Retail, Pharmacy or CPG industries would be an advantage.
• The role may lead and/or mentor other business analysts depending on experience and size/complexity of the projects) the role is working on in any one period of time.
