Commercial Specialist – Online Doctor

Growing our Pharmacy Services business is a key strategic initiative and we’re transforming the way Pharmacy Services are delivered in stores and online

As the Online Doctor Commercial Lead, you will lead for the growth of the category at a sales and gross profit level helping to take the business from a newly launched service to an annual £100m service within the next 12 months.
You will be reporting directly to the Senior Commercial Development Manager for Online Doctor or Online Doctor Trading Manager and will work also collaboratively in cross functional teams with External partners, Digital Product Management (IT), Chief Pharmacists Office, Marketing, Pharmacy Finance and Store Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the services market, the customer needs and the competitor set. Create a differentiated customer offer that wins share.
• Be the expert in the subset of services that are uniquely yours to trade (20+ services)
• Create and trade a 12-month activity plan that delivers the sales and GP budget.
• Analyse data on customer feedback and online / store performance to create insights that can be acted upon to improve customer care and business performance.
• Understand and act on digital marketing performance metrics and seek to influence future spend
• Manage the traditional trading levers of price, range, distribution and promotion within a regulated market in the context of a healthcare business.
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve target margins, supply chain continuity, partnership funding to support our differentiated offer.
• Maintain great customer service levels through effective cross functional engagement and holding to account of all stakeholders providing key business inputs e.g. forecasting, launch dates and any reactive tactical planning and issue resolution.
• Maximise performance and development at a team and individual level

• Have a “can do” attitude and be able to work independently and at pace
• Possessing resilience, adaptability and you’re not fazed by things changing in an agile and fast-moving environment.
• Ability to have impact and influence with senior stakeholders using a variety of techniques/styles.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, understanding that detail and accuracy is vital, but able to contribute and be comfortable with future thinking.
• Ability to analyse market information, customer needs, competitors and an understanding of the economics of the business. Turning analysis into insight and action.
• Experience of pharmacy services in stores will help immensely but is not essential.
