We have an exciting opportunity in our Bangor Main street store for a full time, permanent Care services pharmacist to carry out our Care Services Pharmacy Advice Visit (PAV).

Care Services Pharmacy Advice Visits support our care agenda by encouraging more clinically focused conversations that deliver positive health changes to the benefit of our care setting patients and customers.

In addition to providing advice on safe and secure medicines handling, the visit will further improve the advice we give to care homes by:
- Providing a focus on patient safety
- Containing a dedicated clinical section to optimise pharmaceutical care of our care home patients
- Containing an antipsychotic medication audit to optimise/support care of patients with dementia
- Containing an optional waste audit to provide support where appropriate home visits.

This is an amazing opportunity to be at the forefront of the community as well as being part of a well established pharmacy team within the store.

Full training can be given and the opportunity to shadow another Care services pharmacist will be arranged at the beginning of the new role.

The importance of your role.

Dedicated Pharmacists will deliver consistently high quality Pharmacist Advice Visits (PAVs) to every resident and they will be recognised as being the medicines experts in the care sector. The role will allow us to support our customers with the challenges of their regulators and the growing expectations of external bodies Pharmacists will provide medication reviews and guidance on medicines management, building great relationships with our customers, residents and healthcare professionals, and overall supporting great care. Our customers recognise these to be of great importance and their expectation is of high quality consistent delivery, meeting completion targets which support them to meet the expectations of their regulators.

What you’ll be doing day to day.

Care Home Services customers tell us that understanding their needs and those of their residents, as well as regulatory and business requirements, is really important. Day to day you will be demonstrating that we truly understand these needs and offer fantastic customer care.

Your priorities will be planning and subsequently visiting the Care Homes in your allocated areas and completing the Pharmacist Advice Visit and supporting our customers with guidance on medicines management.
