All about the role

This role is a true ambassador for Boots in Undergraduate education and beyond; you will be responsible for:

  • Influencing the pharmacy undergraduate course to ensure that future pharmacists have the right skills, knowledge and attitudes to develop the profession of pharmacy
  • Working with the Capability Manager and Regional stakeholders to deliver identified interventions, using in store time to coach leaders on capability development
  • Design and development of training to ensure pharmacists and pharmacy support colleagues are provided with the best training material to develop and have all of the necessary skills to deliver the best customer care to develop and grow our pharmacy business
  • Delivering our professional capability strategy through promoting our Pharmacy Student programmes
  • You will be teaching at University on 2 days and designing/ developing professional material/ working as a pharmacist in store(s) on other days
  • Design and delivery of key programmes: through showcasing the teacher practitioner leadership and passion for Boots, provide continued support from pharmacy undergraduates to newly qualified pharmacists
  • Use the teacher practitioner clinical and theoretical expertise and knowledge to develop and design training on any new regulatory guidance or new pharmacy services specific to Ireland alongside the Pharmacy Office Team

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following areas of expertise:
  • A true ambassador for community pharmacy and the Boots employment brand
  • A passion for community pharmacy and our retail business
  • Lives and breathes legendary patient care
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Pharmacist, post graduate qualification desirable
  • Ability to design and deliver L&D solutions
  • You will need to be able to demonstrate in-depth experience in a retailing environment
  • Training experience –skilled in delivering to large groups, smaller cohorts and 1-2-1
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills
  • Organisation of and planning training interventions which link to commercial context
  • Excellent knowledge of the professional recruitment market place
  • Relationships with University colleagues, external stakeholders, Support Office and Regional teams are key to your success
  • Qualified Pharmacist, 3 years+ experience desirable
  • Post graduate qualification desirable
